Tony Shorthouse is an English artist, originally from Rochester in Kent, who has lived in West Cornwall since 1973.
He paints in oil and watercolour and for many years has painted the magnificent and varied landscape and coastal subjects around his home which is located conveniently between the peninsulas of Lands End and The Lizard. Cornwall is therefore a dominant theme having understandably influenced numerous artists in the past as well an increasing number in the present.
Frequent travels to France and Spain as well as the occasional trips beyond mean that painting plein air in Brittany, the Pays Basque and the Picos de Europa are subjects added to the list along with Venice and Vancouver Island.
